I use blender (2.68a) and nothing more. The animation tools it provides is more than enough. You do need to do it frame by frame in some cases but you can manipulate faces by adding an armature and weight painting the faces to bones. It's not as bad as it seems. It's kind of like making an animation in flash, you can do tweening for most stuff using keyframes.

What do you use to make your stuff btw? Your own tools or what? I'd love to try and make some player models but it looks like I need to manually animate each frame, by manipulating individual faces and shit? That seems crazy, is there an easier way to do it?
