HUD and Video settings !Questions!

I was looking at some defrag videos for dfwc 2012 and seen that the person recording the video had really clear looking video settings compared with the settings that I'm using and was wondering if maybe I'm missing something in my settings.

Here's a screenshot that can explain some more I hope.

I don't think that's a quake3 issue. Quake3 is a very old game and cannot create such effects.
The walls are blurry too. I guess your graphics card is somehow blending two frames together.
Is there some kind of modion blurr effect you turned on?


Funny there was a time when people wanted this effect to be gone and bought faster and faster TFT screens.
Today they add it artificially in movies.

oh I think that you are looking at the wrong picture the one with the blurred walls is a screenshot from a youtube video.

So your screen isn't blurred? But you described the problem to be blurry numbers.
Please describe your problem in more detail. Or attach a screenshot that makes it clear.
Which is your screen and which is the one that shows how it SHOULD be.

Now I get it. He is talking about the fuzzy edges of the numbers in the upper right screenshot.
Yeah, that's probably a higher resolution bitmap font.

If you watch this video it looks really clear in 1080p compared to when I'm playing quake. Is it just the render settings that he uses or..?

looks like it has r_intensity a little higher but i think it's post edited.
