DFWC 2012 - Maps

I would like to discuss about the maps of the worldcup here.
Round 0 was a strafemap with nothing else but nice glastextures. Felt like the some random early work by Pornstar with better graphics and without flow. Rating 2/5 since most strafemaps are much uglier.
Round 1: Picking up weapons at the start was a bit annoying but not a problem since everything was in one place. The start was interesting and challenged every player to find the best way to the teleporter (thanks for making the teleportarea bigger). The strafepart was ok and ended in a nice plasmapart. Different ways to end the map (grenade, bounce or plasma only to the top and rockets) made it interesting. Decent difficulty a good flow and different possibilities to finish the map made it a 4/5 (almost 5) for me. Got stuck at the strafepart near the plasma too often.
Round 2: WTF. I'm out. At least it has some better design and not just random caves.

round 0: 2/10 overall, visual is ok, -8 for HIDDEN RAMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE IN A DFWC MAP WHICH HAS LEGIT OBS
round 1: 9/10 overall, looks nice, awesome gameplay for players to dig out routes. -1 for missing textures in some places. and also, this shouldn't be a round 1 map.
round 2: didn't go through deep yet, but judging from first look it looks shiny and dull(color). the doors seem to be useless, and i don't know if it counts as a killbug if i restart before the first door closes.

Actually i was drunk yesterday :lol: But to be clear:

Players have to make sure they don't retain any game states of prior attempts to set a time into the current attempt. (no kill bugs)

If you're a Nazi faggot, then it matters. The door being open for a quarter of a second doesn't impact the gameplay in any way, so any validator with a brain won't care. I do recommend using map_restart, though; it's a lot better than kill.

Well, if it counts as a killbug than this competition should be called DFTC - Defrag World Troll Competition :P

EDIT: well, I don't have to add that I'm fucked then? Because I used /kill and didn't give a crap about these doors, which don't do anything btw, they're just useless decoration

Nobody gona fuck players, especially me. I played all DFWC since 03 and i will never vote to ban players from cup because of some meningles random ob that was made by accident. People seems to be not informed about "having random OB not necessary means disqualification" and instead asking, they just wan 't to throw shit on me. All validators was doing exactly the same thing: find all random OB's in demo, no matter if they are made accidentally/give advantage.

1st map - "So I'm supposed to play this? HAHAHA!" *sending test demos*
2nd map - first contact with the map: "LOOOOL!" After 20 minutes of playing: "They can't be serious...easy map? Wtf I still mess out with grenade!" I must admit that this was the best map so far. And I'm a strafer naturally.
3rd map - Simply the stuck-festival map! I will use yourGn's quote of his short impression from round 1:

4th map - visualization: nice, gameplay: garbage of garbage. :clap:
5th map - could be good map if the heights would be lower. Frustrating to play when you know that you are having nice run, but can't finish it. :evil:
6th map - Very nice. So many ways. Playable. Lot of fun. Could be perfect... BUT the one trigger :doh:

gj to winners and all who participated :dance:

Can't wait for DFWC 2013.
