This year the DFWC will be very transparent. It's our desire to hand as much information to the public as possible like who is on the team and who does what job. As for internal decisions.

Demo Validators
We do need validators for demos. If you want to do that you have to know the following things:

As a demo validator you actually can take part in the DFWC but you cannot validate your own demos or demos from your country.
The validation process will look like this. Once the DFWC round is over you get access to the demos on our website. You watch it and enter a comment to it. So it should be very easy to watch many demos in a row.
Who is up to it?

Mappers
ZyaX wants to play the DFWC so he is not the right address for sending maps to. Instead send them to me please. You will find the email address in the website's contact section. We need the regular kind of of DFWC maps but there may come up a new restriction about mapping bounces.

Could you write a bit more about the demovalidation pls? I don't think that anyone is able to validate a demo or am I wrong?

Since all the commands will be automatically checked while uploading the demo, validators will check demos at the aspect of breaking other rules which cannot be checked by our future system. For example : random obs (we will probably describe those), timescale (subjective) etc. Suspicious moments will be discussed by all the admins afterwards.

arent there ways to modify a demo though? you could change what settings were used, so you could run a map at timescale 0.1 and change it so it shows as 1, and it wouldnt be detected. of course, youd have to be pretty good at timescaled runs to make it look realistic, but the point still stands: are there ways to tell if the demo file itself was modified?
wtf i have a signature?

why would you need replay software for that? it seems like replay software would be less detectable than modding the demos, but it would also be way harder. you could just make a really good run at timescale 0.1, then open the demo and change 0.1 > 1.0, and there would be no way to tell, aside from watching the demo and deducing for yourself.

I wouldn't worry about timescale.

You know that /timescale doesn't work unless you enable sv_cheats, right? D:
