Hi. I started mapping recently, and I am learning the basics.

However, I cant create weapons. I create it, alignt it with floor (as close as I can since theres no "box" around it). But it just isnt there when I launch the map. Also item_haste does not work (but item_health_mega does). Ive also tried with entity_give too, with the same results. Is the problem in my gtkradiant?

Im using gtkradiant 1.5.

Could you post the .map file here?
I don't think it's a radiant problem.

you are probably just launching your bsp in the wrong gamemode in df.

ps: you dont have to align the height of items and weapons since they go automatically to their standard height! if you want them to stay at a different height than standard - you have to do it manually by adding a spawnflag key to your item/weapon.

I placed a rocket and a env_suit in the freestyle room (biggest room). They arent accessible. I compile map without any errors with the first of the (test) options. Ive also tried to do (final) without improvement.

amt_morbus: I just test the map in normal q3. For some reason df takes much longer to load the map.

Hmmm. Now that I try to load it in df I get: client/server game mismatch. Didnt get that before though.

The bottom of the hitbox for the weapons is sticking into the floor. It needs to be resting on the floor or above the floor (they will fall to the floor so above doesnt really matter). Because its sticking into the floor what happens is it spawns and then falls through out of the map.

Open radiant. Go to view --> Entities as --> Then select either bounding box or skinned and boxed. The bounding box is what I'm referring to.

be sure you put your bsp in \defrag\maps
launch the map
then type in the console :
df_mode_tricksmode 0
df_ndm_weaponspickup 1
df_ndm_powerups 1
df_ndm_itemsspawn 1

That easy eh. Well thanks a lot phoenix. I just moved the rl up a couple of units and now I can pick it up. :)

Regarding the box, I cant find that option, maybe is not available in 1.5?

Zen, I had no idea you needed that. Thanks! Ill save that in a test.cfg or something.

Usually, just writing /cpm mapname is needed.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't there. You might have to find an option for entities in the preference window in 1.5. If it's not there then that's yet another reason I would never use 1.5 over 1.4 :)
