So I can point at it. There should have been a poll eventhough the result was obvious to everybody.

Well, we are talking about the rankings. Let's be clear on that. This is NOT cheat. It's just befaviour that is not tollerated by the community in case this poll passes.

I didn't come up with that and I don't even like it that much but compared to the other names it describes the action pretty good.

Trivia: Tripple consonants have been pretty rare in German before the spelling reform of 1996. So it's a new habbit.

This map is only possible in vq3 through use of this bug, and it is totally leet and legit to do so.
There are countless similar examples, and the maps which are 'broken' by the bug do nothing to negate the ones which require it.

Because accountability for a provably destructive and lazy action is easy to avoid if you can point to a poll where every idiot can have their spastic reactionary view represented without them being asked to defend it.


If you were fair, before banning it everywhere you'd seek to have at least one person supporting your position who can demonstrate that they know how it works and can prove that it's bad in all cases.
That at least would show whether or not you're minimally interested in the game you're administrating.

Instead, like every other time, you have a dozen super-serious-defrag-players whining about something they:
- can't describe the mechanic of,
- can't give even the rawest estimate of its effect,
- want banned in all cases because of a few specific abuses.


My opinion?
Mark the times where it is used, in a separate ranking or something, if you really can't figure it out by looking.
Even that isn't absolutely necessary, but you seem desperate.

Then once the whiners are silenced, teach mappers how to avoid it, or (imagine it, if you can) use it constructively.

Defrag has many bugs of which the community has almost wholly accepted as a respectable way of playing the game. So when do you stop removing bugs? If some other bug starts to annoy the majority of players, will it be removed too? Will overbounces and ground boosting be removed? (The bugs on which the game is fundamentally played by today.)

And as you've said hk, if it's 'NOT a cheat' - then why is it being removed?

Ban it. Don't just have a vote and put on the website that its illegal. Hell nina still uses mwheel jumps. Make it imposs to use wallbug.

There are maps that depend on wall bug. There are fantastic *interesting* routes caused by the wall bug. Removing it outright is bad, embracing it is better.

It is simple to know if a run was used with wall bug - player velocity increased without position changing. Just mark times using the bug as [wb] in the rec list, or use a separate list. This is a perfect compromise, the main problem is on maps where an unskilled player using wb gets a time close to a skilled player without.

Also while we are on the subject, can we add a [arca] tag to the rec list on Arcaon's times, thus differentiating between players who deserve rank 1 but don't have the unfair advantage of not being arca.

You cant go around 'marking' the times, if ppl(people) want it ti stay it should be in a seperate list. Players work long and hard to get rank 1 on maps, and then a player comes raping it with wb, making it impos to break without and then that hard worked rank 1 is gone. Even if its marked or not. I say remove it. But if it wont get 'banned' then atleast give it a own top they can compete with eachother in and leave the 'normal' top alone..
